Sometimes a group will be formed and later on some of its members drop out due to unforeseen circumstances. The group members may want to fill out the group to a full 16 to 20 members, and ask that we submit new members to them. Other times, a group leader can’t recruit the full amount of people needed to make forming a group economical, and asks for our help in adding members.River rocks

This gives you the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of the ranch for a full week without having to form your own group.

We can provide you with the dates and number of people requested by the group leader. Then we have the group leader contact you.

Call us with your desired date(s) and the number of people you would like to have join a group.

Group size, rates – We can accommodate 16 to 20+ people at a time. The basic rate covers up to 16 people; additional guests are charged according to their ages, with discounts for teens, children, and infants. See the Rates page for details and how we define “16 to 20+.”

Arrival and departure days – You arrive on Saturday and depart the following Saturday. Your ride across Florence Lake is complimentary. You get to the ranch either on foot or take advantage of a special low rate to ride in on horseback. We take your luggage across the lake and to and from the ranch at no additional charge.

Shooting stars in meadowIf you want to arrive or depart on a day other than Saturday, you will have to make a special arrangement for the handling of your luggage. The best way is to send your luggage in with one of the group members who is arriving and departing on Saturdays. If you want a riding and/or pack horse to and from the ranch, you will be charged the full horse and packer rate, as shown on the Rates page.

Accommodations – Choose one of our eight log cabins by a stream or one of five tent cabins near the river. A log cabin can hold three (3) people, and has a double bed and a twin bed. Each log cabin has a bathroom with toilet and wash basin with cold running water. One of the log cabins is larger, with one double bed and two twin-size beds. Tent cabins have a double bed and a cot, and no bathroom.

Be sure to bring a sleeping bag and a bath towel (we’re not a hotel).

Enjoy private and luxurious bathing in one of our two enclosed hot spring baths.

Our fireplace lounge has books, board games, playing cards and comfy furniture.

Meals – Meals are not included in the basic rate. The person who puts the group together will have already arranged for meals, and will inform you of the charge.

Horseback riding – Horse use for either riding or packing is charged for separately. There are many options including full-day and half-day rides to some wonderful destinations. You can also arrange an overnight pack trip into nearby Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park. Our rates are similar to those charged by pack stations in our area. See the Rates page for details.

All rides are guided.

Remember to bring – Your sleeping bag, bath towel, a poncho (in case it rains), a flashlight with fresh batteries, a hat (our high elevation and clear skies make the sun especially intense).
